LET'S TALK ABOUT THE POWER OF BEST PRACTICES PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENTWe know that professional development improves fundraising. However, most Latinx focused nonprofits don't participate in professional development. Furthermore, most professional development in fundraising is designed for large budget institutions with complex fundraising programs and large staffs. There is also little if any culturally informed fundraising training for Latinx focused nonprofits. We will focus on "Best Practices" based on Professional Development. This means the Institute will identify and study successful fundraising practices being implemented nationally by Latinx focused nonprofits today.

How To Join Somos El PoderYour Organization can join Somos El Poder for a very affordable Annual Fee designed to be affordable by all Latinx Focused nonprofits. You will need a minimum of two individuals involved in SEP Classes, Conferences, and Professional Learning Communities. We prefer a staff/Board combination. This will help greatly improve the implementation and resilience of new fundraising methods at your nonprofit. Select individuals, especially students can also join.
|
IT'S ABOUT... Latinx Self Reliance! We know that Latinx are just as philanthropic as any other population. Studies have shown that Latinx are overwhelmingly not asked or engaged by nonprofits. We are poorly represented in Boards and Leadership as well.
We estimate broadly that Latinx can give $24.7 billion annually in the US today. Nobody has ever focused training on Latinx fundraising, studied it, documented success and lessons. |
